Spartacus: Gods of the Arena is a television series prequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The series follows the character Gannicus (Dustin Clare), the second gladiator to become Champion of Capua. Cast members and characters being reprised from the original series include John Hannah as Batiatus, Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, Peter Mensah as Oenomaus, and Manu Bennett as Crixus. Andy Whitfield on the other hand will make a brief appearance as Spartacus on this series.
Last week, we have seen the fulfilling episode wherein Batiatus succeeds in securing the position of primus for his man Gannicus in Vettius' upcoming games through an elaborate scheme. Its Batiatus lucky day though this coming Friday, February 4, 2011, everything will goes against him including his father on Spartacus: Gods of the Arena Episode 3. This is the part where the real game begins. Don’t let your eyes slip on it but be aware of what is happening.
Synopsis:
Just as his fortunes are on the rise, his future clear before him, Batiatus is stunned by the return of his father which puts his attempts to gain rank by exploiting those above his class at risk.
